A mug shot of a boy prisoner with a heavy chain around his neck is on display at the Tuol Sleng prison in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. An estimated 17,000 people passed through the prison under the Khmer Rouge from 1975 to 1979. Often entire families were arrested together, and children, along with their parents, were brutally interrogated, made to confess to a list of crimes against the regime, then murdered in the infamous Killing Fields. Only a handful of those who were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng survived. March 1, 2012.
