A private security guard near the Maiwand district bazaar in Kandahar province, Afghanistan is questioned about whether he fired his gun during a three-way battle with Taliban insurgents about an hour earlier. A Canadian soldier was killed in the exchange, and the shot was initially believed to have come from the convoy. An official investigation later found that the fatal bullet had come from the Taliban.
