Chris Jaminson relates to Elaine Elinson an anecdote about his service during the Vietnam War, as fellow veteran Mike Kerber looks on. Jaminson spent a month in 1970 as an Army M42 Duster crewman helping South Vietnamese troops guard a bridge on Highway 9, near the former Demilitarized Zone. South Vietnamese troops used to fish in the river below with hand grenades, Jaminson said. The three toured Vietnam in April with Veterans for Peace, learning about efforts to mitigate the suffering of Agent Orange victims and others who have been maimed by land mines and bombs left over from the war.
