Participants in the annual Taong Putik, or "mud people," festival walk through the streets, asking alms from passersby, while on their way to a special Mass at the Catholic church in the village of Bibiclat, on Luzon island, Philippines. The festival honors St. John the Baptist, and the mud, banana leaves and vines that devotees wear symbolize the animal skins the saint wore in the Bible. June 24, 2011.
