A boy stands beside a canal spanned by the Japanese Bridge in Hoi An, Vietnam. The tile-covered wooden structure dates from the 16th century, and links the Japanese quarter to the rest of the city. Hoi An was an important colonial trading port from the 15th to the 19th centuries, and the architecture of Hoi An Ancient Town is the most well-preserved in Vietnam. April 22, 2012.
