Spc. Josiah W. Hollopeter, 27, of Valentine, Neb. peers through his rifle scope, hoping to spot an insurgent sniper near Patrol Base K-Wal, in the village of Shakarat, in Diyala province, Iraq. A soldier with Troop C, 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, Hollopeter has been on the hunt for two months, after the enemy marksman killed another U.S. soldier in March.
